Welcome to one of the most dynamic medical professional and social organizations in Texas, as well as the US. The Texas Club of Internists (TCI) is an organization whose members number among the more outstanding internists in the state. Not only must members exhibit outstanding professional qualities, but they must also have social attributes that lend richness and compatibility to the group. Throughout the years of existence of the TCI, professional accomplishment and friendliness have been the hallmarks of prospective membership. TCI then, is truly a club as opposed to a society or an association.

The TCI was organized in 1924 and has existed continuously since that time, even throughout the 2020 pandemic.  (You can read the detailed history of the TCI by visiting the History tab of the website.)

Welcome to the new Texas Club of Internists website! On behalf of the entire TCI Board of Directors, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for visiting us online. This digital space has been designed to provide you with a comprehensive and user-friendly experience, showcasing the rich history and dynamic future of our esteemed organization.

As we proudly celebrate our centennial year in 2024, we reflect on the remarkable journey of TCI. For 100 years, TCI has fostered medical collaboration and excellence in the field of internal medicine for our members and colleagues. Our longevity and success are a testament to the dedication and passion of our members, as well as to the lifelong bonds of friendship that have been built and nurtured over the years.

TCI has always been more than just an organization; it is a thriving community of medical professionals united by a common goal. Our members benefit from an array of resources, including professional development opportunities, networking events, and access to cutting-edge research. TCI membership consists of approximately 150 active internal medicine physicians with various types of specialties - including Adult Medicine, Pulmonary, Cardiology, Infectious Disease and Gastroenterology, just to name a few. Prospective members are nominated by members of the organization and elected by vote of the entire membership twice a year. Thus, due to our organizational bylaws, our nomination and review process a bit different than other associations. If you would like to be considered for TCI membership, please complete our online form and a TCI District Chair from your area will contact you personally with next steps.
