MEMBERSHIP LEVELS AND ANNUAL DUES

The Club shall be composed of Active, Senior Active, Emeritus, Inactive and Honorary members.

Membership is not restricted because of race, gender, color, religion, sexual orientation, or ethnic origin.

A candidate for active/senior active membership must be a graduate of at least seven (7) years standing of a duly qualified medical school. The candidate shall be trained in Internal Medicine.

The candidacy of new members may originate in the district in which the proposed candidates reside or from other districts. Nominations will be considered at both the Spring and Fall Meetings. The chair’s proposal for the nominee shall set forth the date and medical school from which the candidates graduated, the educational qualifications, hospital connections, contributions to medical literature, years of practice, and other pertinent information. The District Chair is responsible to provide the curriculum vitae on these nominees to the Secretary, and delegated Club staff, at least one week prior to the next meeting. A vote of the Membership shall be taken during the Business Meeting at the Spring/Fall Meeting.

Annual Membership Dues are assessed based on the calendar year and due on January 1 of each year. (New members who are approved mid-year will be invoiced for a 6-month period.)

TCI MEMBERSHIP TYPES

 ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP                            ANNUAL DUES:  $1,250
Active Members have voting privileges, may hold office and are assessed annual membership dues.
 
SENIOR ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP              ANNUAL DUES:  $1,250
Active Members who reach the age of sixty-two (62) shall become Senior Active members in the year they attain such age. Senior Active Members have voting privileges, may hold office and are assessed annual membership dues.
 
EMERITUS MEMBERS shall neither vote nor hold office and they are exempt from paying dues. However, to attend any meeting, either business or clinical, they shall pay to delegated Club staff, the appropriate fees for registration and events.  Senior Active members who reach the age of seventy (70) may request to become Emeritus members by notifying the Secretary by letter or email. Election to this category is not required.

HONORARY MEMBERS shall neither vote nor hold office and they are exempt from dues payments. Any non-member physician, Senior Active or Inactive member whom the Club wishes to honor may be elected to Honorary membership.

INACTIVE MEMBERS shall neither vote nor hold office and they are exempt from dues payments while listed inactive. Inactive membership is approved as a short-term option and reviewed for consideration by the TCI Board of Directors.
