About the Texas Society of Medicine (TSM)Founded in 1924 as the Texas Club of Internists, our society has grown and evolved to become the Texas Society of Medicine (TSM) — a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) organization committed to advancing clinical excellence and fostering professional fellowship. For more than a century, our society has provided physicians with a unique blend of cutting-edge medical education and lifelong friendships. What began as a statewide community of internists has expanded to welcome physicians across adult medicine specialties, united by a shared commitment to scholarship, camaraderie, and service. Each year, TSM hosts two high-quality continuing medical education meetings: a Spring Meeting rotating throughout Texas and a Fall Meeting at leading academic and cultural centers around the world. These gatherings are known not only for their outstanding clinical content, but also for the personal connections and traditions that make TSM truly unique. Today, our membership includes approximately 100 active physicians, nominated by peers, or self-nominated, and elected by the full TSM membership. Many members remain engaged throughout their careers and into retirement, with the option to transition to Emeritus status at age 70. With nearly 100 lifetime members, TSM remains a society where professional growth and personal friendship go hand in hand — a tradition that continues to inspire new generations of physicians.
